The Centre of Cultures is established a) To promote the relationship between different cultures, through the organization of gatherings and meetings for interchange among people from different cultures with the intention to make each cultures interests and aspirations known, and more importantly, to allow a true dialogue, oriented toward the search for common interests that are present in the hearts of different peoples and individuals. b) To denounce and struggle against all forms of manifest or covert discrimination, through the development of different kinds of campaigns for improving the present and building a common future; promoting human rights; the free circulation of human beings throughout the planet and the possibility that every one be able to choose the place and conditions in which he or she wants to live. c) To disseminate the proposals of Universal Humanism the most general proposals of which are characterised as follows: (1) Placing the human being as the central value and concern,
with nothing above the human being and no human being above any other.
These proposals characterize the thinking and action of Universal Humanism in their most general aspects. They configure a style of life and a way of relating to others embodying the highest of moral values, which can be expressed in this way: “Treat others as you want them to treat you!” d) To establish permanent contact with communities, minorities, associations and people from different cultures with the interest of jointly disseminating and organizing the activities of the Centre of Cultures. e) To take contact with the countries of origin of participants
in order to disseminate and gather groups of people interested in the
study and development of the activities of Universal Humanism. We search for inspiration in the contributions of many cultures, not only those that today occupy centre stage. Our project is a new world: the creation of a Universal Human Nation. Who can contribute? Any person of any religion, culture, language
or origin that wants to collaborate in this project and that wants
to take part in developing communication among different peoples.
There are two minimum conditions for participation. The first is that
we will not admit the participation of those who foster discrimination
or intolerance. The second is that we will not allow the participation
of those who use violence as a methodology of action for imposing
their concepts or ideals, no matter how elevated those concepts and
ideals may be. |
